Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, situated at an altitude of 2,195 meters, you'll be greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the Paro Valley. After completing immigration formalities and receiving a warm Bhutanese welcome, you'll visit the historic Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery that dates back to the 17th century, and stands majestically at the edge of the valley. Explore the intricate architecture and serene courtyards of this cultural gem. Later, you can stroll through Paro town, where you'll find charming shops and a taste of Bhutanese life. Your first night in Bhutan will be spent in Paro.

After breakfast, drive to Bhutan's capital city, Thimphu, which sits at an altitude of approximately 2,334 meters. Along the way, you'll encounter picturesque landscapes as you traverse Bhutan's mountainous terrain. In Thimphu, you'll visit the colossal Buddha Dordenma Statue, offering panoramic views of the city. The Tashichho Dzong, a striking government building with an intricate design, is next on your itinerary. Explore the vibrant local market, where you can find Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, and more. Spend your second night in Thimphu.

The third day starts with visits to the Folk Heritage Museum, which offers insights into Bhutanese culture, and the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where you'll witness traditional arts and crafts being crafted. In the afternoon, hike to the Tango Monastery, located at an elevation of approximately 2,550 meters. The hike is not only an opportunity to admire the serene environment but also a chance to experience Bhutan's mountains capes. Return to Thimphu for your third night.

Prepare for an enchanting excursion to Punakha Valley, situated at varying altitudes between 1,200 and 1,350 meters. The journey reveals a shift in climate and vegetation as you descend into this subtropical valley. Here, you'll explore the Punakha Dzong, a historical fortress set at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. A brief hike will lead you to the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the "Temple of the Divine Madman." The lush Punakha Valley offers a stark contrast to the higher-altitude regions you've explored thus far. Return to Thimphu for your fourth night.

Drive back to Paro, situated at an altitude of 2,195 meters. The highlight of your last day in Bhutan is the challenging yet rewarding hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery), perched dramatically at an elevation of approximately 3,120 meters on the edge of a cliff. The hike provides not only spiritual fulfillment but also an opportunity to acclimatize to higher altitudes. After descending, you can explore Paro town or do some last-minute souvenir shopping before departing from Paro International Airport.
