The Three Passes Trek is a challenging and exhilarating trekking adventure in the Everest region of Nepal. It is renowned for its stunning views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The trek involves crossing three high mountain passes – Renjo La Pass, Cho La Pass, and Kongma La Pass – each offering unique and breathtaking scenery.

The journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek through picturesque Sherpa villages, lush valleys, and glacial rivers. Along the way, trekkers will have the opportunity to experience the rich Sherpa culture and visit ancient monasteries. The trail also passes through the famous Namche Bazaar, a bustling mountain town and an essential acclimatization stop.

As the trek progresses, adventurers will cross the challenging high passes, each presenting its own set of difficulties and rewards. Renjo La Pass offers panoramic views of Everest and other majestic peaks, while Cho La Pass requires careful navigation through rocky terrain. Kongma La Pass, being the highest, provides awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding mountains.

After a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trek begins with a descent to the Dudh Koshi River. Passing through picturesque Sherpa villages, you reach Phakding where you'll stay overnight.

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and climbing steeply to Namche Bazaar. This bustling mountain town is a significant acclimatization stop with stunning views of Everest and surrounding peaks.

To adjust to the altitude, you'll spend an extra day in Namche. You can explore the local markets, visit the Everest View Hotel, or take a short hike to Khumjung and Khunde villages.

Leaving Namche, the trail takes you to Thame, a tranquil village with a beautiful monastery. You'll get to experience the Sherpa culture and enjoy spectacular mountain views along the way.

The trek continues through lush valleys and alongside glacial rivers to reach Lungden, a small village surrounded by snowy peaks.

Today is a challenging day as you cross the Renjo La Pass, offering panoramic views of Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The descent leads to Gokyo, situated by the pristine Gokyo Lake.

This is an acclimatization day in Gokyo. You can hike up to Gokyo Ri (5,360m) for stunning sunrise views over Everest and other Himalayan giants. Later, you can explore the Gokyo Valley and its turquoise lakes.

You'll retrace your steps back towards Thagnak, a small settlement on the way to Cho La Pass.

Today, you'll cross the challenging Cho La Pass, which requires careful navigation. The trail then descends to Dzongla, offering fantastic views of Ama Dablam.

A shorter trekking day, heading towards Lobuche, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp.

The trail leads to Gorak Shep and continues to Everest Base Camp, where mountaineers prepare to climb the world's highest peak. After exploring the base camp, you'll return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Today is another challenging day as you cross Kongma La Pass, the highest of the three passes. The trail descends to Chhukung, a small village nestled amidst beautiful landscapes.

Descending further, the trail leads to Pangboche, a village with a historic monastery and stunning mountain vistas.

Retracing your steps, you'll pass through Tengboche and continue down to Namche Bazaar for a well-deserved rest.

The final day of trekking takes you back to Lukla, where you can celebrate the completion of the Three Passes Trek with your fellow trekkers and guides.

You'll take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, where you can relax, reflect on your incredible journey, and enjoy the city's vibrant atmosphere.
