Itinerary

You'll start your journey from Kathmandu, Nepal. With your guide and fellow travelers, and then embark on a scenic drive to the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi. After completing immigration formalities, you'll enter Tibet and drive to Gyirong, a picturesque town nestled in the lower Himalayas. The drive from Kathmandu to Gyirong takes

Spend the day in Gyirong for acclimatization purposes. It's essential to allow your body to adjust to the higher altitudes gradually. Take a short hike or explore the local surroundings to prepare yourself for the upcoming higher altitudes.

Today, you'll continue your overland adventure to Tingri. The drive covers approximately 350 kilometers (220 miles) and takes around 7 to 8 hours. You'll pass through breathtaking landscapes and small Tibetan villages along the way. Tingri offers stunning views of Everest and other high peaks, making it an excellent place to soak in the natural beauty.

Prepare for an exciting day as you head towards the legendary Everest Base Camp. The drive from Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, covers about 100 kilometers (62 miles) and takes around 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival, hike or take a shuttle to Everest Base Camp (EBC) itself, situated at an altitude of around 5,200 meters (17,060 feet). Marvel at the awe-inspiring view of Mount Everest's north face and spend time taking in the breathtaking surroundings.

After a memorable experience at Everest Base Camp, you'll head back towards Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. The drive covers approximately 340 kilometers (212 miles) and takes around 7 to 8 hours. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and stop at some viewpoints for incredible photo opportunities.

Continue your journey from Shigatse to Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. The drive covers around 270 kilometers (170 miles) and takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. Along the way, visit the Gyantse Kumbum, an extraordinary stupa with beautiful murals and statues. Arrive in Lhasa, where you'll spend the night.

The next two days are dedicated to exploring Lhasa's prominent cultural sites. Visit the iconic Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery, and Sera Monastery. Immerse yourself in Tibetan culture and spirituality while exploring these remarkable places.

After spending a memorable time in Lhasa, you'll start your journey back towards Shigatse. The drive covers approximately 270 kilometers (170 miles) and takes around 6 to 7 hours. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and stop at some of the viewpoints for stunning photo opportunities.

The road from Shigatse to Kyirong (Nepal/Tibet Border) takes you through picturesque landscapes, traditional Tibetan villages, and beautiful valleys, offering stunning views of the Himalayan ranges and the Tibetan plateau.

Complete the necessary immigration and customs formalities to exit Tibet and enter Nepal at the Kyirong border. After crossing the border, continue the road journey to Kathmandu. The drive offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges and the lush valleys of Nepal. You'll descend from the higher altitudes to the lower plains as you approach Kathmandu.
