The highlight of the trek is reaching the sacred Gosainkunda Lake, a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus.

Starting from the bustling city of Kathmandu, the trek takes you through picturesque villages, dense forests, and high alpine meadows. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning views of snow-capped peaks, including Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, and Ganesh Himal.

The trek begins in Syabrubesi and follows the Langtang River upstream, passing through lush rhododendron forests and traditional Tamang villages. As you ascend higher into the Langtang Valley, you’ll visit the scenic villages of Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, and Kyanjin Gompa, where you can explore ancient monasteries and sample local cheese.

From Kyanjin Gompa, the trail ascends towards the sacred lakes of Gosainkunda, nestled amidst towering peaks and pristine glaciers. Crossing the rugged terrain and high mountain passes, you’ll experience the raw beauty of the Himalayas before descending back through the tranquil forests to Sundarijal.

Itinerary

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang Gosainkunda Trek. Enjoy scenic views of terraced fields, rivers, and lush hillsides along the way.

Begin your trek towards Lama Hotel, passing through dense forests of rhododendron and oak. Enjoy the tranquil sounds of the Langtang River as you ascend gradually along the trail.

Trek to Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang settlement surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Along the way, you'll pass through beautiful alpine forests and charming villages.

Continue trekking to Kyanjin Gompa, a picturesque monastery nestled in the heart of the Langtang Valley. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Langtang Lirung and Langshisa Ri.

Take a rest day in Kyanjin Gompa to acclimatize to the high altitude. Explore the nearby glaciers, visit the local cheese factory, or hike to Tserko Ri for stunning panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayas.

Descend back down to Lama Hotel, retracing your steps through the beautiful Langtang Valley. Enjoy the downhill trek and soak in the serene atmosphere of the forested trails.

Trek to Thulo Syabru, a traditional Tamang village perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Explore the village and interact with the friendly locals.

Trek to Sing Gompa, also known as Chandanbari, where you'll visit a sacred monastery and enjoy panoramic views of the Langtang range.

Ascend to Gosainkunda, a sacred lake revered by Hindu pilgrims. Along the way, you'll pass through rugged terrain and pristine forests, with stunning views of the Himalayas.

Cross the challenging Laurebina Pass and descend to Ghopte, a small settlement nestled amidst rhododendron and juniper forests.

Trek to Kutumsang, a picturesque village with terraced fields and stunning mountain views. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and hospitality of the local villagers.

Continue trekking to Chisapani, a charming hill station with panoramic views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley.

Trek to Sundarijal, where you'll meet your vehicle for the drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking team and celebrate the successful completion of the Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
