Overview
The Shivapuri to Chisapani Trek is a perfect short getaway from Kathmandu, offering a serene experience in the natural beauty of the Shivapuri National Park. This 2-day trek is ideal for beginners, families, or those with limited time but who still wish to explore Nepal’s countryside and experience panoramic views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.
The trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, followed by a hike through lush forests, waterfalls, and picturesque villages. The route takes you through Mulkharka village, where you can witness rural Tamang life. As you ascend higher, you’ll walk through forests of pine and rhododendron, eventually reaching Chisapani (2,300m). The village offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valley, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner.
On the second day, the trail descends through beautiful landscapes, and you may encounter wildlife such as monkeys and various bird species along the way. You’ll return to Sundarijal by midday and drive back to Kathmandu, completing the trek with a sense of achievement and serenity.
