The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is a classic and adventurous journey through the stunning Annapurna region of Nepal. Starting from Besisahar, the trek leads through lush landscapes, terraced fields, and charming villages, following the Marsyangdi River. One of the main highlights is reaching the beautiful village of Manang, offering a chance to acclimatize and soak in the rich cultural ambiance while gazing at the magnificent Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks. From here, trekkers take a detour to Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes globally, nestled at an elevation of 4,919 meters (16,138 feet). The lake’s turquoise waters and the surrounding glaciers and peaks create an awe-inspiring and surreal setting, making it a photographer’s paradise.

The trek continues to the challenging yet rewarding Thorong La Pass, standing at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet) above sea level. The ascent to the pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, providing trekkers with an exhilarating sense of accomplishment. After crossing the pass, the trail descends to the mystical landscapes of Lower Mustang, with its unique geology and traditional Tibetan-influenced culture.

The journey further includes a visit to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, where travelers can experience the religious significance of the temple complex, adorned with natural flames and 108 water spouts. The trek eventually concludes in Jomsom or Nayapul, offering trekkers the choice of either a scenic flight or a drive back to the lakeside city of Pokhara.

Itinerary

Drive from Kathmandu to Jagat via Besisahar. The journey offers picturesque views of terraced fields, lush landscapes, and traditional villages.

The trek officially begins as you follow the Marsyangdi River upstream, passing through quaint villages and dense forests.

Today's trek takes you through rhododendron forests and offers stunning views of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges.

Ascend through pine forests and enter the arid Manang region. Enjoy the magnificent views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna II.

Trek through the arid terrain of Manang, home to the unique Tibetan-influenced culture.

Take a rest day to acclimatize and explore the picturesque village of Manang. You can also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association for altitude advice.

Hike to the small village of Khangsar and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Ascend to the base camp of Tilicho Lake, surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks.

Early morning hike to Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. Marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the turquoise lake and its glacial backdrop. Return to the base camp for the night.

Descend back to Yak Kharka, a grazing pasture for yaks, amidst the stunning mountain vistas.

Trek towards Thorong Phedi, the last village before the Thorong La Pass.

This is the most challenging day of the trek as you cross the Thorong La Pass, offering surreal views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Descend to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Drive approx 4-5 hours by jeep through Kali Gandaki River valley, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and traditional villages.
Tatopani is known for its natural hot springs, where you can relax and rejuvenate after the journey.

After enjoying the hot springs at Tatopani, continue your drive to Pokhara.
The road journey takes approximately 3 hours, offering picturesque views of lush green hills and terraced fields. You'll pass through charming villages and towns before reaching the vibrant city of Pokhara,
Pokhara is a beautiful and enchanting city. It is the second-largest city in the country and serves as a major tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Pokhara is nestled in the lap of the Annapurna mountain range and sits beside the serene Phewa Lake.

The distance from Pokhara to Kathmandu is approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) when traveling by road.
Overland : The road journey typically takes around 6 to 8 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.
By flight :- The flight duration is around 25 to 30 minutes, making it the quickest option.
